Charlie Turner, 76, of Milton, FL departed this life peacefully on December 4, 2013.
He was born March 24, 1937 in Castleberry, AL. He was the first black Radiology (X-Ray) Tech at the Santa Rosa Medical Center where he had 40 years of dedicated services before retiring in 2003.
He was a faithful member of the Mt. Pilgrim African Missionary Baptist Church in Milton.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mable Turner; nine children: Lunette Russell, Angelia (Earl) Walker, Cornelius "Carl" (Glenda) Turner, Cecil (Darlene) Downing, Paul (Ida) Downing, Leroy (Camilla) Downing, Vanessa Downing, Lorenzo (Wenda) Downing, Lawrence Downing; one brother, Frank (Regener) Turner; two brother-in-laws: James (Patricia) Walker and Henry Wilson; sister-in-law, Ada Burkes; twenty-four grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, five God-children, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be at 11:00 a.m. until funeral service begins at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 14, 2013 at First Assembly of God in Milton, FL, Rev. Jamie Smith Officiating with burial at Keyser Cemetery.
