Pemberton Brown (P.B.) Wall, LCDR, USN retired, 92, of Pensacola, died January 10, 2014. He was the son of Lester and Gladys Brown Wall (deceased), born in North Attleborough, Mass. P.B. married Winell Marie Harwood in 1944. Winell died March 25, 1996. They had 2 children: Pemberton B. Wall, Jr. (deceased) and is survived by son Harwood Davis Wall, who resides in Charlotte, NC; as well as grandchildren and great grandchildren. After Winell's death he married Sara Andrews Terry on March 7, 1997. She died April 4, 2007.
P.B. was a proud member of the "Greatest Generation" and a purple heart recipient for wounds received as the Commander of a troop landing craft in the South Pacific during WWII. He also served during the Korean War. P.B. revered his country and was extremely proud of his service in the United States Navy.
He retired as an industrial engineer from Rhode Island to Pensacola in 1986 and resided in SW Pensacola. He was a member of the Warrington Elks Lodge 2108 and a lifetime member and supporter of the Shriners Children's Hospitals; to which he leaves the bulk of his estate.
Honoring his written instructions, there will be no visitation or service. In lieu of flowers, he asked that any memorial donations be made to the Shriners Children's hospital of your choice or to Emerald Coast Hospice which cared for him in his final days. He also extended his thanks to the staff at the Veranda where he lived the last years of his life. P.B. will be inurned at Barrancas National Cemetery aboard the Pensacola Naval Air Station next to his first wife, Winell Marie. Oak Lawn Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.
