We were just told about Dr. Chew's passing. Our deepest condolences to his family and to Beth. He was one of the most caring men I have ever met and always took such wonderful care of my furkids. He always had a kind word and inquired about my family. Rest in peace, dear friend. Until we see you again, you are surrounded by all the furkids you have cared for over the years.

I was genuinely shocked to find out, only today, of Dr. Clint Chew's passing. I have known Clint since 2000 as the caring, wonderful vet for my mini schnauzers and as a dear friend to me. He always had time to joke, trade stories and lend an ear when I needed a friend. Great guy. I will really miss him

I have known Clint since Jr. High School when he was the handsomest and best Butterfly swimmer in the whole southeast I imagine. His wonderful practice, kindness to our animals, and lovely family are a continuing testament to his legacy as a very good and kind man. My brother had a very difficult time in his adulthood, but whenever Clint and I ran into him, he always asked about Jimmy. Love you and rest now dear Clint.

March 26, 2014

My wife and I were deeply saddened with the news of Dr. Chew's passing. He, Beth and his family always treated us as friends, which we do consider he was, and not just patients. We always loved our talks with him no matter what the subject was. He was such a devoted man to his wife, daughters and his practice. I just wish there were more vets and people like him in this world for it would be a much better place. I loved when we bumped into him at Target or Lowe's and had a friendly conversation. Dr. Chew saw my wife and I at some of the most difficult times when that time came for a beloved pet and some of the most joyous times with the love of a new pet. But through it all he was there with all of his support and care for the pet and us. We cannot say enough what a pleasure it was to have him in our lives as a vet and a friend. He will be thought of often. Our thoughts are with his family and Beth.

Back sometime around 1979 I first took my then 6 year old dog in for her shots and Clint was filling in for the local vet in Gulf Breeze. His gentleness with my dog convinced me he was the vet I wanted to use from then on. Later, I brought him a young stray cat who had been frequenting my shop as his home. This young cat hadn't shown up for a couple of days and when I finally found him in my wood storage, his jaw was broken in a couple of places and his tongue was so swollen he couldn't eat or drink. Clint fixed his jaw and simply told me I could pay the bill if the little guy decided to stick around. He did and I happily paid for Clint's caring work which was worth more than he charged me. Clint's generosity and genuine caring for animals and the people who loved them was the thing I most admired in him. He was a good friend for a long time and I will miss him.

March 24, 2014

I was so sorry to hear of Dr. Chew's passing. I worked with him years ago through the old emergency clinic and doing relief work at his practice.

I am a bit late finding out that Dr. Chew is no longer with us. He came highly recommended years ago per Wes of the Ferret & Dove Sanctuary. Dr. Chew not only saved more than one of our ferrets, but broke the news to me gently when he could no longer help one of our cats, and she went to Heaven. He has since been the only vet I would take my cats and dog too. After more than one upsetting experience with other local vets, I came to trust Dr. Chew with my pets lives. I truly believe that Dr. Chew was a very caring and honest man. I remember thinking the last time we visited Dr. Chew, in December 2013, that he looked very tired....I am glad he is in Heaven now! Our condolences to his family and staff. God bless.

March 21, 2014

We too were shocked and deeply saddened to hear of Dr. Chew's passing. Words cannot begin to express what a loss this is. He was such a special friend. We began seeing "Dr. Clint" when he first opened his practice and never once did he hesitate to help one of our animals. We rescued abused/abandoned dogs and lived in the country, he, knowing how difficult it was to bring them all in, he, "Nan", and the girls, Courtney & Kim (before they were married), drove to Walnut Hill to give our dogs shots and visit for a while.
Just who does this??? Dr. Clint Chew, JR! That's who. This is who HE was. He sincerely cared for his "patients"...and their owners.
We will always love you and hold you and your family...and BETH, in our hearts and prayers. To Beth, I am so sorry for your loss as well. You have been there every step of the way and we love you too! Please don't hesitate to contact us if you ever need anything.
Always, God Bless you all and keep you close during this sad time.
Love, Kevin & Harriet Pugh

Dr Chew took care of our little pomeranian who got extremely sick and Dr.Chew and Beth tried there best to save him but it was our dogs time to go, when we got the bill, it was in excess of $600 and Dr.Chew new it was a lot of money, he told us to just pay me monthly what you can until you pay it off. We did and never once did they send us a bill or ask about it when we took our other dog in. That was the kind of man he was along with Beth. You will never get that kind of love from a big clinic. We will never forget Dr Chew and Beth for being so kind to us and our 4 legged children.

March 19, 2014

We are so sorry to hear of his passing. He was old school, but I trusted him implicitly with our dogs. He and my husband traded tech support for vet services, but neither was good at keeping up with which one owed the other one. Beth never knew when or what to charge me. He was a wonderful vet and a wonderful man. I had the hardest time finding a vet I was happy with when we moved to Alabama because of our professional and personal relationship with him had me so spoiled.

He will be greatly missed. His family and Beth will be in our prayers.
