Edwin R. Embry, Jr.

1950-2014

Ed Embry, 63, passed away at his home in Pensacola on Wednesday, April 23, 2014. He was born in Louisville, KY on September 1, 1950.

Ed's life accomplishments include serving honorably in the U.S. Army as a veteran of the Vietnam War. He also served in the U.S. Coast Guard. Ed is a retired officer in the U.S. Merchant Marines attaining the highest rank of Captain. As an accomplished maritime officer, he commanded U.S. flagged vessels on varying missions around the globe.

He was an avid gun collector, loved music and most of all his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edwin R. Embry, Sr. and his mother, Georgia L. Gream.

Survivors include: his loving wife, Sally Embry; sons, Dennis (Mary) Embry and James (Medessa) Embry; step-children, Tina (Jon) Mills and Alan Mosley; grandchildren, Bryce Embry, Darian Casey, Anthony Mosley, Sara Polk, Zack, Courtney and Savannah Mills; great grandchildren, Lauralye Polk and Julian Harris. He will also be missed by his loving friends, Sue and Rodney Jensen and John Rotella.

Ed was loved and admired by all who knew him. The depth of his affections will be felt by all who love him for years to come.
