Clarence Alton Mabire

1930-2014

Clarence Alton Mabire (Silver Fish), 83, Mvskoke Elder, of Pace, passed on Tuesday, June 17,2014. Clarence Mabire was born on October 24, 1930 to Charles and Ada Mabire in Pensacola Florida. He is preceded by his wife Addie. Clarence was one of the last traditional cast net weavers of the Mvskoke Creek people of Florida. His 'cultural-specifics' Native American Indian activism covered a span of 70 years. His teasing sense of humor and quick chuckle at his own comedy will always be remembered. Clarence was a graduate from Pensacola High School, a retiree of Gulf Power, and a Korean War veteran. Clarence's love of his Lord and Savior was always at the forefront of his life.

He is survived by his five children Del, Redwing, David, Daniel, and Wesley. His grandchildren Zack, Tracey, Travis, Chehalis, Rain, Shakohwin, Kristy, Niccole, Stephanie, Brian, Trisha, Brittany, Alex, Elrik, Melina, and Sebrina. And his great grandchildren Xander, Ansley, Kolby, Shashoka, Dylan, Cole, Grayson, Cameron, Hannah, Nathaniel, Jaxon. Boston, and Bentley.

Viewing is June 20, 2014 from 4-8 p.m. at 4797 Old Guernsey Rd, Pace FL 32571. Services will be held the following day, June 21, 2014 at 10 a.m. at the same location. Followed by the burial in Flomaton, Alabama at the Flomaton Cemetery. Lewis Funeral Home handling arrangements.

The family would like to thank Tammy, Tracey, Gigi, Janice, Mary, and Tim for all of their love and care given.
