Doughty, Keith - Evansville  
EVANSVILLE – Keith James Doughty, 61, peacefully went to be with the Lord Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014. He retired from the Indiana Department of Transportation as a signal technician, after 23 years of service. He was an avid reader of all history, specifically Vietnam. Keith also enjoyed building World War II model airplanes to absolute perfection. He was preceded in death by his parents, Beaulis and Vaunda Doughty; four nephews and a niece. Surviving are his wife of 26 years, Lisa; daughter April (Kevin) Rutledge; son Greg Rumage; his best buddy and granddaughter, Anna Delene Rutledge; sisters Sheila Ransom, Loretta Doughty and Debbie (Rex) Cornelius and several nieces and nephews. Keith's family would like to thank all of the wonderful doctors, nurses, technicians and staff at Deaconess Gateway Intensive Care Unit – there are no words to describe their dedication to their patients and their hard work and dedication does not go unnoticed. Also, to the staff at The Charlier Center, for Keith's comfortable walk to Jesus. Visitation will be held at Beyond The Veil Fellowship, 2800 N St Joe, Evansville, from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19. A memorial service will be held immediately following with the Rev. Mike Shore officiating. Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorial contributions be made to Beyond The Veil Fellowship Building Fund, 2800 N St Joe, Evansville, IN 47720. Griffin, Kevin - Cannelton  
CANNELTON – Kevin E.Griffin, 55, went to be with the Lord Dec. 18, 2014, after a long battle with diabetes. He was born June 6, 1959, in Elwood and lived most of his life in Alexandria. Kevin graduated from Alexandria Monroe High School in 1977. He moved to Cannelton in 1995 to work as a prison guard in Branchville, after working several years at Pendleton Reformatory and Correctional Industrial Complex. Kevin had also been a union organizer for the Indiana State reformatory workers UAW. He enjoyed watching the Colts, spending time with his family and friends and raising a garden every year, earning him the nickname "Mater" for the tomatoes he loved to grow and give away. He was a member of Agape Fellowship Church. Kevin was preceded in death by his wife, Tammy (Baugh) Griffin, father Lainey T. Griffin, brother Jim Griffin, stepfather Arthur Tomlinson, and nephew Brad Fouchey. He is survived by his mother, Virginia (Kirby-Griffin) Tomlinson, sisters Nina (Griffin) Mattman and Paula Randy) Watson, brother Todd (Sandy) Griffin, sister-in-law Vickie Griffin, stepson Matt Baugh and mother-in-law Mary Minnear. Kevin had been deeply saddened by the loss of his best friend and faithful companion, Abby, his schnauzer. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Brother Bob Campbell will officiate. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time. Johnson, Virginia - Tell City  
TELL CITY – Virginia H. Johnson, 90, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Amma, West Virginia Feb. 29, 1924, to the late Thomas and Dixie (McCroskey) Harper. Also preceding her in death was her brother, Olen Harper. Virginia was married Jan. 9, 1942, to Fred E. Johnson, who preceded her in death Jan. 6, 1981. She was a member of First Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening and her cats, Shadow and Prince. Surviving are her children, Fred E. (Barbara) Johnson II, and Barbara Jo (Jerry) Mehringer, both of Tell City; three grandchildren, Jeff (Vanessa) Johnson, Jay Johnson, and Brian (Lorie) Mehringer; and four great-grandchildren, Cole and Kelby Johnson and Devin and Riley Mehringer. The family would like to thank Virginia's caregivers for taking special care of her. Funeral services will be at 10: a.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Dan Hopkins will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Memorial Fund or a favorite charity.

Peckenpaugh, Orville - Tell City  
TELL CITY – Orville Peckenpaugh, 91, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014, at Perry County Memorial Hospital. He was born in Millstone Sept. 28, 1923, to the late Charles Henry and Pearl (Little) Peckenpaugh. Orville was a World War II Navy veteran. He was married in 1946 to Louise Huff, who preceded him in death in 1993. Also preceding him in death are his siblings, Grace Stahly, Charles and Owen Peckenpaugh, Imogene Bauer, his twin sister, Opal Hollander and Gladys, in infancy. Orville worked at Maxon Marine for 40 years and was a member of Boilermakers Local 374. He was also a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ and American Legion Post 213. He enjoyed woodworking and watching Indiana University basketball. Surviving is his son, Danny (Sandy) Peckenpaugh Sr. and grandchildren Kim (Jeremy) Luecke, and Danny (Stephanie) Peckenpaugh Jr., all of Tell City; two great-grandchildren, Darian Oliva and Cole Peckenpaugh; and stepgreat-grandson Reese Morton. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. the Rev. JT Hills will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. NEW WASHINGTON – Lilly Alice (Winchell) Brown, 60, of New Washington, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014, at St. Catherine Regional Hospital. She was born on July 14, 1954, to Conrad and Virginia (Vanconey) Winchell in Tobinsport. Survivors include her husband, Donald Brown of New Washington; daughter Jenna Brown of Charlestown; sons Robert Brown of Louisville, Ky., William Brown of Louisville, Ky., and Kurt Brown of Germany; sister Connie Lee James of Tell City; and four grandchildren. A graveside memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. CST Saturday, Dec. 20, at Lamb Cemetery in Tobinsport. Grayson Funeral Home in New Washington was in charge of arrangements. Dupont, Edna - English  
ENGLISH – Edna Dupont, 92, of Doolittle Mills, passed away Friday, Dec. 12, 2014, at Scenic Hills Care Center in Ferdinand. Edna was born in Crawford County Jan. 30, 1922, to Arnold Wright and Ella Jane (Jellison) Wright. She married Herschel Dupont, who preceded her in death in 1999. Also preceding her in death were a son, Mike DuPont, and three grandchildren. Edna is survived by her children, Sharon Sheckell of Carefree, Joan Fair of Hopkinsville, Ky., Fred (Emma) Dupont of Louisville, Ky., Mary (Les) Kauffman of Eckerty, Don (Sherry) Dupont of Jasper and Kathy (Herb) Huff of Birdseye; a sister, Judy Conrad of Taswell; 20 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. She was a member of Bethel Christian Church in Doolittle Mills. Edna was an avid gardener. She also loved quilting, canning and reading mystery novels. She loved to travel and had traveled to Israel and Egypt. Funeral Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec., 17 at Bethel Christian Church in Doolittle Mills. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, at Denbo Funeral Home in English, and from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at Bethel Christian Church. Denbo Funeral Home in English was in charge of arrangements.

Kendall, Ralph - Cannelton  
CANNELTON – Ralph Kendall, 82, passed away Sunday, Dec. 14, 2014, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Owensboro, Ky. He was born in Cannelton Feb. 10, 1932. His parents were the late Elmer and Marie (McFarling) Kendall. Also preceding him in death was a sister, Carolyn Kendall. A 1950 graduate of Cannelton High School, Ralph was a corporal in the United States Army and was stationed in Japan during the Korean War. He married Shirley Glenn Sept. 5, 1955, at St. Michael Catholic Church. In his younger days, Ralph enjoyed horses, barrel racing, hunting and fishing. He was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 16 years and in 1972, he and his wife purchased Freemans Grocery on Seventh Street in Cannelton. They owned and operated K-Market from 1972 until 1997. Surviving is his wife of 59 years, Shirley Kendall; daughters Kristine Bland (Bruce) of Cannelton and Jonell "Jodi" Kleeman (Bret) of Troy; son Matthew Kendall (Misty) of Leopold; brother Ronald Kendall of Cannelton; grandchildren Jeffery Hawkins (Martha), Kirstin Hawkins (Tim Campbell), Lacey Hawkins, Olivia Kleeman, Dex Kleeman, Kyle Kendall and Zachary Kendall; great grandchildren Trenton Ingle, Alyssa Campbell and Madeline Hawkins; and his dog, Tootsie. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, at Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel, with burial in St. Michael Cemetery. The Rev. Barnabas Gillespie OSB will officiate. Military graveside rites will be conducted by Harry G. Myers American Legion Post 142 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2939. Visitation will be held from 3 until 7 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael Cemetery or the Perry County Animal Shelter. Kreisle, Sheila - Rockport  
ROCKPORT – Sheila Rose Kreisle, 73, of Rockport, passed away Monday, Dec. 15, 2014, at home surrounded by her family. Sheila was born in Tell City August 5, 1941, to the late Urban and Hazel (Dickman) Briggeman. She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church. Sheila retired from Chase Bank in Owensboro, Ky. She enjoyed gardening in her flower garden, traveling, shopping and most of all spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard "Dick" Briggeman. Sheila is survived by her husband of 53 years, Robert "Bob" Kreisle of Rockport; children, Kim (William) Branch of Rockport; Kevin (Mary Linda) Kreisle of Philpot, Ky.; Kelly Kreisle of Grandview; and grandchildren Jordan, Jarrod and Collin Kreisle. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Rockport, with the Rev. Ron Kreilein officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Tell City. Visitation was scheduled from 3 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, and from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport. A prayer service was scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice and all of the friends and family who lovingly cared for Sheila. Peter, WIlma - Tell City  
TELL CITY – Wilma R. Peter, 85, passed away Monday, Dec. 15, 2014, at Deaconess VNA Hospice in Evansville. Wilma was born March 3, 1929, to the late William and Roberta (Freuhwald) Pfeifer. On Nov. 17, 1951, Wilma married William J. Peter. They were married for 45 years. She was a homemaker and member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. Wilma enjoyed reading, sewing, playing cards, crossword puzzles, and spending time with her family. Surviving are her children, Bill (Janet) Peter of Evansville, Mark (Rose) Peter of Clayton, Margaret (Donnie) Vaal of Newburgh, Bernard Peter of Tell City, Roberta (Raymond) Mills of Petersburg and Steve "Fred" (Jenny) Peter of Tell City; a brother, Robert Pfeifer of Tell City; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death is her husband, William J. Peter, in 1997; a grandson, Jeffrey Peter; and a sister, Mary Fischer. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. CST Thursday, Dec. 18, at St. Augustine Catholic Church. The Rev. Jack Durchholz will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 8:30-9:15 a.m. Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Augustine Catholic Church. Rust, Jay "Rusty" - Tell City  
TELL CITY – Jay B. "Rusty" Rust, 85, passed away Thursday, Dec. 11, 2014, at his home. He was born Dec. 8, 1929, to the late John B. and Stella (Talbott) Rust. Also preceding him in death is a brother, Laddie Keith Rust. Jay owned Rusty's Barber Shop for 21 years. He later worked as a payroll clerk for Maxons and B.F. Shaw Corp. He served in the National Guard and was a member of American Legion Post 213 and the Independent Order of Oddfellows 353. He enjoyed music and genealogy. Surviving is his wife of 61 years, Emma Jean (Montgomery) Rust; children Barbara (Gary) Sandage and Mitzi (Bill) Patmore, all of Tell City, and John (Teri) Rust of Lebanon, Ohio; four grandchildren, Matt Patmore and Laura Sandage, both of Tell City, Jonathan Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. CST Wednesday, Dec. 17, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. The Rev. Bill Reid will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. There will be no visitation prior to the funeral service.
