Trowbridge, Hugh - Tell City  
TELL CITY – Hugh D. "Pete" Trowbridge, 80, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2016, at Newburgh Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Fredericksburg Dec. 19, 1935, to Arlie and Olive (Crandall) Trowbridge. Also preceding him in death was a brother, Victor. Pete was united in marriage on Aug. 19, 1956, to the former Carolyn Sue Trinkle. A graduate of Indiana University, he had owned and operated a gas dock and worked for Lorch Oil Company in New Albany, Phillips 66 in Indianapolis and Evansville, before moving to Tell City in 1967 to work for Onward Corporation, and then C & S Inc., where he was President for 35 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and good friend to many and will leave great memories to all of them. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Sue Trowbridge of Tell City; children, Trina (Eric) Burris of Tell City and Andy (Michelle) Trowbridge of Indianapolis; and grandchildren, Adam (Leah) Burris of Johns Island, S.C., Corey Burris of Charleston, S.C., and Jacob and Zachary Trowbridge, both of Indianapolis. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at noon, Saturday, July 2, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Indiana Alzheimer Disease Center ( ) or Perry County Animal Shelter. Messages of condolence may be made at
