Lewis, Robert - Tell City  
TELL CITY – Robert M. Lewis, 83, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2015, at Oakwood Health Campus. He was born May 12, 1931, in Browder, Ky., son of the late Robert S. and Mary (Craig) Lewis. Also preceding him in death was a brother, Wayne Forest Lewis. After 36 years of service, Bob retired from Naval Ordnance Station in Louisville, Ky., where he was a procurement specialist. He was a 25-year member of the Army National Guard. Bob married Frieda (Aldridge) Phillips April 12, 1975, and enjoyed dancing, fishing, hunting, camping, bowling, golf and euchre. Bob volunteered for several years at the Tell City Babe Ruth concession stand. Surviving are his wife, Frieda; a daughter, Nancy Cockrum of Avon; his sons, David Lewis (Anita) of Princeton and Tracy Lewis (Sondra) of Winslow; a stepdaughter, Debra Jo Knauer (Don) of Pekin; a stepson, Dale A. Phillips (Joan) of Fayetteville, N.C.; a sister, Sylvia June Reiplinger (John) of Evansville; his grandchildren, Justin Lewis, Valerie Black and Erin Cockrum; four great-grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren and 9 stepgreat-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 28, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until service time Tuesday. The Revs. Jim Gidcumb and Paul Alvey will officiate.
