TELL CITY – Albert L. "Al" Faulkner Sr., 84, passed away, Friday, April 4, 2014, at Oakwood Health Campus in Tell City.
He was born June 29, 1929, in Perry County, son of the late Vincent Leo and Agnes (Casey) Faulkner. Also preceding him in death were his wife, Dorothy (Weil) Faulkner, in 2012; a son, Vince Faulkner; a daughter, Laurie Faulkner and brothers, Edward, William and Donald Faulkner.
Al graduated from Oil Township High School and served in the U.S. Army reserves. He had worked in auto parts sales and retired as street commissioner for the city of Tell City. A member of St. Paul Catholic Church, he was a fourth-degree member of Knights of Columbus 1172, where he was a former Grand Knight. Al was formerly Perry County Democrat chairman and Perry County commissioner.
He is survived by his daughters, Susan Doyle (Dave) of Fresno, Calif., Sharon Baer (Jeff) of Plainfield, Theresa Button (Bobby) of Covington, Ga., and Patty Hahus of Alton; his sons, Albert "Larry" Faulkner Jr. (Anna) of Evansville and Andrew Faulkner (Sue) of Fredericksburg, Va; three sisters, Mary Agnes Goffinet and Catherine Sellman, both of Clarksville, and Christine Hahus of Yuba City, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Brandy Sitzman, Brian Faulkner, Brad Faulkner, Leonard Hahus, Melissa Hahus, Carri Button and Candi Brewer and five great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 7 at St. Paul Catholic Church, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 6, and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Monday at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. There will be a Knights of Columbus memorial service at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
