Carrie "Betty" Sims

TELL CITY - Carrie E. "Betty" Sims, 83, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Golden Living Center-Lincoln Hills in Tell City.
Betty was born in Battlecreek, Mich., July 20, 1929, daughter of the late John W. Hinton and Komis E. (Covey) Hinton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George V. "Joe" Sims and a brother in infancy.
Betty retired as an inspector from General Electric, where she had been employed for more than 30 years. Betty was a member of Troy Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, quilting, working jigsaw puzzles and playing cards.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Gerald) Yackle; two sons, Bob Sims and Larry (Monnie) Sims all of Tell City; six grandchildren, Jeremy (Kim) Yackle, Julie (Bert) Holtzman, Brandon (Jennifer) Sims, Brianne (Shane) Hammack, Molly Sims and Courtney (James) Corcoran and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, April 17, at Huber Funeral Home in Tell City. Burial was in Lilly Dale Cemetery. The Rev. Bill Reid officiated.
