FREDERICKSBURG, Texas - Deloris Mae Wilson, 82, went home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013, in Fredericksburg, where she was staying. Deloris was recently a long-term resident of Cedar Creek, Texas. She settled in Austin, Texas, in the 1950s until the 1980s to raise her family. She served her husband and country by moving to several locations in the U.S. and one overseas deployment.h
Deloris was born in Derby, Sept. 20, 1930, to Emory Earl Schaad and Lessie May Ramsey Schaad, who preceded her journey home.
Deloris was a devoted wife, loving mother and professional woman. She loved and worked diligently to serve her husband, family, church and community. In addition to many other places, her love showed in great meals, pies, fudge, jellies and jams. She faithfully attended church at Bastrop Christian Outreach Center and served as greeter or any other role as needed. She also attended South Austin Church of the Nazarene, where she served as treasurer for 20 years She served as a Bastrop Independent School District reading volunteer. Her gentle strong spirit guided her efforts of faith, family and community. She attended South Austin Church of the Nazarene and Bastrop Christian Outreach Center.
She retired from the Internal Revenue Service. Prior to that, she held other professional positions with the state of Texas and other governmental agencies. She was dedicated to learning and educational pursuits. She obtained a degree from Austin Community College and attended several other colleges over her life.
Deloris is following her beloved husband Samuel "Jack" Jackson Wilson to God's celestial home. Her sisters, Melba Simpson and Iris Leimgruber and brothers Delbert Schaad and James Schaad also preceded her in going home.
She is survived by her siblings, Rose Anna Leoni and her husband Ron of Austin, Texas, Charles Schaad and his wife, Cora of Boon-ville, Joe Schaad of Tell City and Johnny Schaad of Tell City; her children, Kathryn Jordan and her husband, Wayne of Mason, Texas, Samuel Wilson of Bastrop, Texas, Robert Wilson and his wife, Jean of Austin and Bryan Wilson and his wife, Holly Ruth of Burnet, Texas; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; many beloved nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 7, at South Austin Church of the Nazarene in Austin. Burial was in Forest Oaks Cemetery in Austin.
Harrell Funeral Home in Austin was in charge of arrangements.
