Effie Hickerson

Effie Hickerson, 95, born March 6, 1917, in Hawesville, Ky., died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012, at Oakwood Health Campus in Tell City.
She was united in marriage July 1, 1940 in Louisville, Ky., to Theodore 'Doc' Hickerson. Effie was a registered and certified antique dealer and owner of 'Yester-Years Antique Shop.'
She attended Evangelical United Church of Christ and was a member of Tell City Historical Society, DAR and was a charter member of Tri Kappa. She also helped her husband, Doc, with the Schweizer Fest in Tell City.
Effie was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore 'Doc' Hickerson; her parents, Austin and Mary Jane (Ramsey) Jarrett; her siblings, Carl and Arnold Jarrett, Pearl Weatherholt, Agnes Conner, Louise Northenor, Marie White and Olivia Mirdo.
She is survived by a brother, Raymond Jarrett of Fort Wayne and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Friday, Aug.17, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home in Tell City.
The Rev. Larry VanCamp officiated.
Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.
