TELL CITY - Gladys H. Murphy, 89, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, at Oakwood Health Campus in Tell City.
She was born Aug. 23, 1923, to the late Tody and Martha (McPerson) Howard.
Gladys was married Feb. 1, 1947, to William Cleo Murphy, who preceded her in death in 2005. Also preceding her in death were a sister, Dorothy Thornberry and a brother, Horace Howard.
She retired from General Electric in 1984 and was a 50-year-plus member of First Baptist Church. Gladys enjoyed her family, gardening and working puzzles.
Surviving are her daughter, Vicky Lutgring and her husband, Dan, of Tell City; her granddaughters, Kimberly Arndt and Jennifer Lutgring, both of Tell City and a great-granddaughter, Sophia Arndt.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday at First Baptist Church.
Pastors Lee Brown and Dan Hopkins officiated.Â Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.
Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home in Tell City was in charge of arrangements.
