ST. CROIX - James "Jim" William Rhodes, 61, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 4, 2013.
He was born Dec. 14, 1951, in Tell City, where he lived the majority of his life.
A 1970 graduate of Tell City High School, Jim enjoyed the simple things in life, such as family, fishing, cooking and sharing his homemade wine. He worked for the Indiana Department of Transportation since 1989.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Mary M. "Margie" (Lautner) Rhodes.
Jim is survived by his two sons, Brian Rhodes (Rebecca) of Crestwood, Ky., and Kevin Rhodes (Connie) of Lorain, Ohio; four sisters, Christine "Peppy" Humes of Lusby, Md., Joanne Lehr of Mariah Hill, Mary Margaret "Marky" Wissman of Lusby and Kim Huck of Tell City; two brothers, Donald Rhodes of Raleigh, N.C., and Robert Rhodes of Hoschton, Ga., and five precious grandchildren, Miranda, Grant, Kayla, Brady and Nathan.
Funeral services will be at 5 p.m. Saturday, June 8, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. The Rev. Barnabas Gillespie OSB will officiate. Visitation will be from noon until 5 p.m. Saturday.
