TELL CITY – Jerry Allen Dixon, 63, passed away Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.
He was born Feb. 11, 1950, in Tell City to the late Otis and Ruth (Mills) Dixon.
A 1968 graduate of Tell City High School, Jerry was also a 1974 graduate of Owensboro Tech College. A Navy veteran, he retired from General Electric after 30 years as a tool and die maker and also worked as a maintenance manager at Oakwood Health Campus for 10 years. Jerry was married Dec. 6, 1969, to Karen Evans.
He was a member of the Free Masons, American Legion Post 213 and the National Rifle Association. Jerry enjoyed woodworking, skeet shooting at home, rebuilding his 1963 Corvaire and spending time with his five grandchildren.
Surviving is his wife of 44 years, Karen (Evans) Dixon of Tell City; his daughters, Kristina Gayer and husband, Brant of Leopold and Stephanie Lindsey and husband, Jeremy of Bowling Green, Ky; five grandchildren, Karissa, Braedy and Kallie Gayer, Lorelai and Isabella Lindsey; brothers, Jim and Wayne Dixon of Cannelton and Roger Dixon of Tell City.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the American Legion.
