Lela Marie Blandford, 78, passed away Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Ky.
She was born in Tell City, Oct. 28, 1934.
She was united in marriage Feb. 19, 1955, to Donald H. Blandford. She enjoyed dancing; specifically ballroom and square dancing, bird watching and traveling.
Surviving are her husband, Donald Blandford of Shelbyville, Ky.; her children, Steven (Debbie) Blandford of Frankfort, Ky., Jeffrey Blandford, Sr. of New Port Richie, Fla., and Douglas (Kate) Blandford of Maryland; a sister, Zelda Foertsch of Spencer County; her brothers, Donald Falls of Tucumcari, N.M. and Charles Falls of Tell City; six grandchildren, Kevin, Ann Marie, Jeffrey Jr., Samantha, Lydia and Madeline Blandford and one great-granddaughter, Riley Blandford.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Fred and Eva (Thiery) Falls; a sister, Opal Nix and a brother, Jim Falls.
Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, (today) at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home with a celebration of life ceremony at 4 p.m. conducted by Marie Kile. Visitation will continue from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 25, followed by burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Louisville Inpatient Unit at Norton Hospital, 315 E. Broadway, Sixth Floor, Louisville, KY 40202.Â
