Mabel L. Snyder, 96, passed away Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany.
She was born in Bristow July 5, 1916, the daughter of Lafe and Olive Bradshaw Lasher.
Mabel worked as a nurse's aid at St. Edwards Hospital in New Albany and was a member of the Elizabeth Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John Darrell Snyder; two sons, John Wayne Snyder and Dennis Lee Snyder and a brother, J. Kern Lasher.
She is survived by her two sons, Rick Snyder (Linda) of Greenwood and Benny Snyder (Linda) of New Albany; a daughter, Marilyn Kannapel (Bill) of Elizabeth; nine grandchildren, Julie Ehnle (Shawn), Beth Crosier, Anita Schoen (Brad), Mike Kannapel (Courtney), Lori Thetford (Jared), Kevin, Brandon and Brian Snyder and Stephanie Johantgen (Josh); 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, Feb. 1, at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon. Dr. Greg Gordon officiated. Burial was in Bristow Cemetery in Bristow.
