Raymond Joseph Hagedorn, 83, of Sellersburg passed away Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at Floyd Memorial Hospital.
He was born Sept. 6, 1929, in Tell City to the late John C. and Clara V. (Peter) Hagedrorn. He was united in marriage to Mary Augusta Hauser Nov. 23, 1950, and to this union brought seven children to bless their home. In 1978, Raymond opened Hagedorn Collision Center, which he owned and operated. He was a faithful member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Knights of Columbus 1221, the K.S.D.A and the Rebels Square Dance Club.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Mary Augusta Hagedorn; seven children, Eugene Hagedorn, Joseph Hagedorn and his wife, Linda, Roger Hagedorn and his wife, Carol Ann, Ronald Hagedorn and his wife, Sondra, Debra Huber and her husband, Gary, Denise Batliner and her husband, Thomas, and Cheryl Pearce and her husband Paul; a sister, Agnes Simon; 18 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Krista Hagedorn; his brothers, Clarence, Ervin, Earl, Casper and Leo Hagedorn; his sisters, Mildred Schaefer and Freida Thole and an infant sister, Eleanor.
A Funeral Mass was conducted Tuesday, Feb. 12, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Albany. Burial was in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Newcomer Funeral Home in New Albany was in charge of arrangements.
