Rose McBrayer(1942 - 2014)

CANNELTON – Rose M. McBrayer, 71, passed away May 12, 2014, at her home.
She was born in Magnet, July 27, 1942, daughter of the late Edgar and Helen (Jacobs) Etienne. Also preceding her in death was her brother, Joe Etienne and sister Betty Jane Voges.
A 1960 graduate of Cannelton High School, she was united in marriage to Melvin McBrayer July 2, 1960, at St. Michael Catholic Church. She retired from General Electric where she was employed for 35 years.
Rose was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church where she enjoyed helping decorate the church. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially hosting holiday celebrations for the family. She enjoyed crafts and working in her yard and water garden.
Rose is survived by her husband of 53 years, Melvin McBrayer; daughters, Roxanne McBrayer of Hawesville, Renee McBrayer of Maceo, Michelle Tinsley (John) of Glasgow, Ky. and Rhonda Storie of New Albany; sisters, Mary Ann Blandford of Tell City and Bonnie Reed of Saluda, N. C.; grandchildren, Christopher Mosby, Anastastia,Wesley and Zachary Graves, Trey and Ryne Tinsley and Lacey Storie and great-grandchildren, Carter and Ayla Graves.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 15, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery. The Rev. Barnabas Gillespie, OSB, will officiate. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
