Dr. Stan Tillman

NEWBURGH - Dr. Stan Tillman, 75, of Newburgh died peacefully Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013, from complications of multiple systems atrophy at VNA Charlier Hospice Center.
Stanislaus Marcelinus Tillman was born in St. Meinrad Sept. 3, 1937 to Cornelius and Mildred (Denning) Tillman-Sandage.
Dr. Stan practiced optometry for 50 years until retirement this spring. He worked alongside his uncle, Dr. Walter Denning, and was joined by his son, Dr. Kurt Tillman, who continues the practice at Tillman Eye Care.
Stan is survived by his loving wife, Jan (Boerste) Tillman, formerly of Tell City; a daughter, Alicia Motz (Rick) of Wadesville; sons Scott (Ann) of Brazil and Kurt of Newburgh; his grandchildren, Hunter, Griffin and Cooper Motz, Alexandria and Bryce Tillman, and Jackson and Katherine Tillman and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, at the Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville, with a memorial service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue Saturday, Aug. 17, at St. John's the Baptist Catholic Church, 625 Frame Road, Newburgh, from 9:30 a.m. until service time.
A Mass of Christian burial for Stan will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. The Rev. Joseph Ziliak will officiate. Burial will be at St. John's the Baptist Catholic Mausoleum.
