Richard Powers Obituary

TELL CITY – Richard J. "Dickie" Powers, 61, passed away June 17, 2015. He was born Feb. 26, 1954, in Tell City, son of the late Robert E. and Mary Ida (Robson) Powers. Also preceding him in death was a grandson, Cane Michael, in infancy.
A 1972 graduate of Cannelton High School, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Dickie was united in marriage to Anne Coon May 17, 1975, at First United Methodist Church in Cannelton.
He had been a member of the Indiana National Guard and had worked at Golden Living Center. Dickie enjoyed drawing and collecting various items, such as guns, baseball cards, autographs, history memorabilia, antiques, pottery and glassware.
Dickie is survived by his wife of 40 years, Anne Powers; his daughter, Sami Powers of Tell City; his son, Brandon Powers of Tell City; a sister, Kim Ball of Cannelton; his brothers, Bobby Powers (Barb) and Kelly Powers, both of Tell City and three grandchildren, Nicholas Powers, McKenzie Loper and Wyatt Powers.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 20, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in New Cliff Cemetery. Brother Jack Masterson will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 until 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday. Memorial contributions may be to American Diabetes Association.
