TELL CITY – Allen J. Evrard, 72, passed away Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014, at his home.

He was born Feb. 22, 1942, to the late Frederick C. Evrard and Shirley (Pyle) Evrard-Mathena.
A 1962 graduate of Tell City High School, he was a U.S. Navy veteran who served on the aircraft carrier Independence.
Allen was united in marriage Sept. 5, 1964, to Bette Scott. An electrician, he retired from General Electric in 2000 after 34 years.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2939, he sang in the Tell City Barber Shoppers and Perry County Community Choir. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and fishing with his buddies.
Surviving is his wife, Bette Evrard of Tell City; sons Brad (Cortney) Evrard of Evansville and Greg (Stacy) Evrard of Spring, Texas; sisters Carolyn (Larry) Evrard-Adams and Martha (Bill) Lehmkuhler, all of Tell City; brother Frederick M. (Joella) Evrard of Evanston; stepbrothers Hal (Gladys) Mathena of Houston, Texas and Dennis (Amy) Mathena of Newburgh; stepfather Harold Mathena of Tell City; grandchildren Sami, Dani, Andi and John Evrard and due in September, Brintley Allen Evrard.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. Pastor Tyrone Edwards will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
