EDINA – Anna Mae "Ann" Miller, 90, of Edina, Minn., passed away peacefully Jan. 26, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Clara Miller and special aunt, Annie Miller.
She is survived by her brother, Nathan (Betty) Miller, nieces, nephews and many friends. Ann was born in Keokuk, Iowa and raised in Tell City. In 1952, she graduated from State University of Iowa where she received a bachelor's degree in liberal arts. In 1958, she graduated from Indiana University with her master's in education. Ann was a lay missionary for Jesuits to Seoul, Korea and taught at Sogang University. She was also a counselor at Kennedy High School in Bloomington for 21 years. Ann was a published writer of children's fiction, and a longtime active member and volunteer of Christ the King parish in Minneapolis. She was Oblate of St. Benedict Monastery in St. Joseph, Minn. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 31 at the Church of Christ the King, 51st & Zenith Ave S. in Minneapolis. Visitation will be one hour prior to Mass at church. Burial will be in Keokuk, Iowa at a later date. Memorials can be sent to the Poor Clare Sisters of Bloomington, Minn. Messages of condolence may be left at
