Arlin E. "Bud" Saalman, 81, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at his home.
He was born in St. Croix March 3, 1931. His parents were the late John D. and Lillian E. (Keilman) Saalman. Also preceding him in death was a sister, Dorothy Lynch.
Arlin graduated from Oil Township High School in 1949. He was a Korean War veteran, having served in the U.S. Army Military Police.
Bud retired in 1985, as a machine operator from Delco Remy in Anderson.
He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal baseball and Indiana University basketball fan. He enjoyed deer hunting and making maple syrup with his neighbor, Denny Goldman.
Bud is survived by his sister, Dolores Kellems of Tell City and a brother, Lor-en Saalman of St. Croix.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, March 5, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in Walker Cemetery in Branchville. Military graveside rites were conducted by American Legion Post 213.
