TELL CITY - Curtis R. Galey, 71, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at St. Mary's Medical Center. He was born April 3, 1942, in St. Croix, son of Clarice (Riat) Galey and the late Edward Galey.
He retired from NSA-Century Aluminum in 2004 after 30 years. His hobbies included farming, visiting with friends, playing cards, watching Gunsmoke, Lawman and western movies and adding to his John Deere collection.

Curtis was very proud of his John Deere tractors and was a member of the Southern Indiana Tractor Club and The Humane Society of Perry County.
Those left behind to celebrate his life are his wife and soul mate of 17 years, Louise ""Gertrude"" Galey; his mother, Clarice Galey; a son, Curtis Galey (Theresa); his daughter, Adwina James; three sisters, Joy Davis, Ada Burns (Norman) and Barbara Sue Connor (Tim); stepdaughters Melinda Scott (Chris), Marsha Dailey (Perrish) and Michelle Wallace (Jim); 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and several loving nieces and nephews.
His son, Jason Galey, preceded him in death.
To celebrate the life of Curtis, there will be a ""pitch-in"" dinner Sunday, May 26, at The Galey Farms, 6852 Azalea Road in Gatchel beginning at noon. Those attending are asked to take lawn chairs.
There will be no visitation or funeral services at Huber Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Humane Society of Perry County.
