TROY – Diana F. Simpson, 61, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.

She was born April 6, 1952. A 1971 graduate of South Spencer High School, she had worked as a caregiver. Diana Swaney was married on Oct. 27, 1989, to Carl "Dick" Simpson. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and enjoyed singing karaoke, spending time with her grandchildren and caring for other people.
Surviving is her husband, Carl "Dick" Simpson of Troy; children, Josh "JT" Simpson of Tell City, Christina Swaney (Kevin Fuchs) of Tell City, Yevette McDonald (Errol) of Tell City, and step sons, Rich Simpson and Marty Simpson, both of Topeka, KS; her mother, LaVerne (Lechner) Sanders of Tell City; sisters, Marilyn Hubert (Gary) of Tell City and Carolyn Gilliland (Tim) of Haubstadt; brothers, Glenn Swaney (Marie) of Lewisport ; four grandchildren, Aaron Duke, Victor Vazquez, Jonathan and Justin Fuchs step-grandson, Adam Lyons and many other aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces.
Preceding her in death were her father, John David Swaney, Jr. and step father, Harvey Sanders and a brother, Eddie Lee Swaney.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. CST Monday, March 31, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. Pastor Ben Rake will officiate. Burial will follow in Troy City Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00-8:00 PM and Monday 8:30-10:00 AM at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home.
