Earl Schwartz, 65, passed away at his home Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, surrounded by his family.
He was born in Troy Jan. 21, 1948. A 1966 graduate of Tell City High School, Earl joined the National Guard. He was married May 23, 1970, to Brenda Wagner. Earl worked through the Boilermakers Local 374, retiring Sept. 1, 2009, after 44 years. He was also a lifelong farmer.
Earl was a member of St. Pius Church and a car enthusiast who enjoyed being on a tractor seat, four-wheeler riding and spending time with his wife, kids and grandkids.
Surviving are his wife, Brenda (Wagner) Schwartz of Tell City; his children, Kimberly (Michael) Hall of Tell City, Kristina (Geoff) Gentil of Wadesville and Kelli (Jason) Brown of Jeffersonville; his brothers, Jerry Schwartz of Tell City and his twin, Murl Schwartz of Troy; six grandchildren, Devin and Dylan Hall, Rylan, Jace, Lyndsey and Seth Gentil.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Margaret (Wolf) Schwartz and a brother in infancy, Dennis Allen Schwartz.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, (today) at St. Pius Catholic Church. The Rev. Dennis Duvelius will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home from 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. today.
