Elmer R. (Ronnie) Lautner, 76, passed away Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at Oakwood Health Campus in Tell City.

Ronnie was born near Tell City Dec. 6, 1935, son of the late Elmer and Mildred Zie-gelgruber Lautner. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Pat Heichelbech.
Ronnie was a 1954 graduate of Tell City High School and served eight years in the United States Navy Reserve. He was united in marriage Dec. 28, 1957, to the former Marlene Kleeman, who survives. He was employed as a car salesman for 39 years at Werner Motor Company and later Cambron Chevrolet. He retired in 1998.
Ronnie was a member of Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 1424, American Legion Post 213, Hoosier Heights Country Club and was formerly a member of the Tell City Jaycees. He served eight years as Troy Township Trustee. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, golf, attending shooting matches and spending time with his grandchildren.
Ronnie is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marlene; three daughters, Susan Lautner of Cleveland, Ohio, Karen Hyde (Ron) of Houston, Texas, Sandy Traphagen (Craig) of Evanston; and a son, Kevin Lautner (Michelle) of Elberfeld; seven grandchildren, Neil, Trevor, Brennan, Natalie, Molly, Kyle and Keenan and one great-granddaughter, Emma.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 30, at Huber Funeral Home. The Rev. Dennis Duvelius officiated. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery where the American Legion conducted military graveside rites.
