Emogene G. "Jean" Faulkenburg, 87, passed away Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at Oakwood Health Campus in Tell City.

She was born near Ranger March 6, 1925.Â Her parents were the late Otis and Ada (Lawalin) Malone. Also preceding her in death were brothers Tom and Jim Malone.
Â After graduating from Oil Township High School in 1944, Jean started a 65-year career as a medical assistant for Dr. David Dukes, Dr. Hargis Bush and Dr. Gene Ress.
She married Harold J. "Jasper" Faulkenburg Jan. 13, 1951, in Tell City.Â They were married for 54 years before Jasper passed away Dec. 5, 2005.Â They were faithful members of First United Methodist Church in Cannelton.Â Jean enjoyed going to auctions, reading and spending time with her cat, Magic.
Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Murphy of Plainfield; a grandson, Sean Murphy of West Lafayette; two sisters, Leola Krieg of Huntingburg and Virginia Evans of Tell City; a brother, Alvin Malone of Tell City and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Pastor Paul Alvey officiated.
