GREENWOOD - Geneva Gohmann, 93, died Saturday, July 13, 2013.
She was born Jan. 17, 1920, in Tell City to the late Leo and Frances Ray Lutgring. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Gohmann; her brothers, Gilbert, Ray and Sydney Lutgring and her sisters, Margaret Frazier, Bette Lutgring and Dorothye LaGrange.
She grew up in Perry County, graduated from Tell City High School in 1937 and attended St. Mary and Elizabeth School of Nursing in Louisville, Ky., becoming a registered nurse in 1941. She married Bernard Goh-mann in 1951 and lived in Floyd County for the next 50 years, where she was a member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church and retired from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kentucky.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Frances "Francie" Sheridan of Greenwood; her sons, Ray Gohmann (Louise) of Atlantic Beach, Fla., and Bill Gohmann (Cathy) of Wa-bash; her sister, Irene Bork; her brothers, Alfred Lutgring (Jean) and Donald Lutgring (Alma); eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 20, at St. Mary of The Knobs Catholic Church, 3033 Martin Road in Floyds Knobs. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A Memorial Mass will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 26, at St. Ann Catholic Church in Indianapolis.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 19, and after 9 a.m. Saturday at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring St., New Albany. A rosary service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial donations in her memory may be made to St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church.
