BRISTOW - Gladys El-len Elverd, 87, passed away Monday, July 22, 2013, at her home.

She was born July 3, 1926, to William and Glessie (Beard) VanWinkle.
Gladys was married Aug. 14, 1948, to Elbert Elverd. A homemaker, she had worked at General Electric for 13 years. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and quilting. She was a lifelong member of Oak Ridge Apostolic Pentecostal Church.
Surviving are her husband, Elbert Elverd of Bristow; her children, Kay Eastham and her husband, Terry of Petersburg, Becky Ebert and her husband, Gary of Ferdinand, Billy Joe Elverd and his wife, Kathy of Bristow and Gregory Elverd of Bristow; her brothers, Hilbert and Bob VanWinkle, both of Bristow; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Nellie Mullen and Dorothy Hayes; brothers Seddie, James and Radie VanWinkle, and a great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 25, (today) at Oak Ridge Apostolic Pentecostal Church. Pastor David Hayes will officiate. Burial will follow in Bristow Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
