James A. Etienne, 83, of Tell City passed away Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at Scenic Hills Care Center in Ferdinand.

James was born in Leopold Sept. 3, 1929, son of the late James M. and Frances M. Little Etienne. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Ida May Etienne; a son, David Koch and two brothers Donald and Richard Etienne.
James was a graduate of Oil Township High School and the United Electronics Institute in Tampa, Fla. He was later employed as a professor at the United Electronics Institute in Florida and Texas. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
James was united in marriage July 10, 2005, to Yvonne Rogier Etienne. He enjoyed reading as a favorite past time.
James is survived by his wife, Yvonne; a daughter, Carla Jones of Seminole, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Debbie Bivens of Evansville and Judy Spradlin of Knox-ville, Tenn.; a stepson, Steve Etienne of Magnet; three sisters, Mary Jo Wiley of Bushnell, Fla., Jeanne Newton of Ramsey and Norma Marshall of Madisonville, Ky.; a brother, George Etienne of Florida and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 30, at Huber Funeral Home in Tell City. Burial was in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla. The Rev. Dennis Duvelius officiated.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer Foundation. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Scenic Hills Care Center for their compassionate care of James.
