Jimmy Phelps, 63, passed away Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at Perry County Memorial Hospital after a long battle with cancer.

He was born in Hopkins County, Ky., May 20, 1949, to the late James Monroe and Charlene (Gamblin) Phelps.Â He was a truck driver for G N Excavating and Trunnel Trucking.
James married Brenda (Davis) March 6, 1993.
Surviving are his wife, Brenda (Davis) Phelps of Tell City; daughters Christy Phelps of Evansville and Kimberly Snow of Princeton, Ky.; his sons, William Lee Phelps and James Dale Phelps, both of Princeton, Ky., Daniel Davis of Tell City and Zachary Pannett of Columbia, Mo.; a sister, Rita Stokes of White Plains, Ky.; a brother, Donald Phelps of Mannington, Ky.; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son James Keith "Casey" Phelps; his sisters, Elizabeth Duncan, Rena May Moore, Eva Allen Phelps and Katie Phelps; a brother, Marvin "Bill" Phelps and a grandchild, Azaria Davis.
Jimmy requested that there be no official services.Â Memorial contributions may be made to his wife, Brenda.
