CANNELTON - Jasper T. McMahon, 87, passed away Friday, June 21, 2013.
He was born July 18, 1925, in Perry County, son of the late Townsend and America (Persinger) McMahon. Also preceding him in death were his wife, Beverly McMahon; stepson Daniel White; his sisters, Mary Agnes Pavola, Nancy Perryman and Ruth Rittel and his brothers, Bill, Raymond and Mike McMahon and Donnie King.
A World War II U.S. Army veteran, Jasper retired from Tell Chair Co. after 40 years. After his retirement, he had worked as a security guard and at Noble's IGA.
Jasper enjoyed visiting with family and friends and relaxing by the river.
He is survived by step daughters Sharlene Crossley (David) of Cannelton, Melody Miller (Timothy) of Henderson, Michelle Trammell of Bristow, Tracy Pearson (Dwight) of Mount Vernon, Bobbie Oldham (Steve) of Mount Vernon and Lula Parker of Boonville; a stepson, Clayton White of Tell City; three sisters, Lavina Harlen (Doug) of Fort Smith, Ark., Linda Curtner (Dan) of Cannelton and Carolyn Doogs of Tell City; three brothers, Richard "Coon" King of Cannelton, Bill King of Shelbyville and Jim McMahan (Donita) of Cannelton.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 24, (today), at Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel, with burial in Deer Creek Cemetery near Tell City. Military graveside rites will be conducted.
Visitation was set for 3 until 7 p.m. Sunday, June 23, and from 9 a.m. until service time today.
