TROY – Jean Y. Marchand, 80, passed away July 27, 2018, surrounded by her family at Transcendent Health Care in Boonville.
She was born in Troy on May 27, 1938, to the late Cecil Frizzell, Sr. and Verlee (Harp) Frizzell. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Ralph E. Marchand in 2006 and a niece, Sara Frizzell.
Jean was a graduate of Troy High School, where she was salutatorian. She was a member of St. Pius Catholic Church and T.O.P.S. Jean collected salt and peppershakers and enjoyed sewing, painting ceramics, making crafts and she loved her animals, especially her miniature dachshunds.
Surviving are her children, Dan Marchand and his wife Sheila Mae from Tennyson, Dee Marchand from Cannelton, and Dusty Marchand and his wife Julie from Boonville; a brother, Cecil Frizzell, and his companion Karla Trefftzs, Tennyson; her grandchildren, Brandy Hall, Brian Marchand, Brandon Marchand, Haley Hemmings, Amanda Johnson, Sara Long, Kaleigh Goldman, Tiphani Goldman and Blayze Marchand; and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 31, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday from 3 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
