TELL CITY – Lester J. "Tunney" Solbrig, 92, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, at Oakwood Health Campus.

He was born in Perry County on May 29, 1921. His parents were the late Alfred and Pearl (Sweat) Solbrig. Also preceding him were a son, Ronald Solbrig and Lester's wife, Mary (Lawalin) Solbrig, in 2004.
A World War II U.S. Army veteran, Lester retired from Tell City Chair Co. and enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, gardening and watching the Miami Heat NBA team.
Survivors include his daughters, Anita Moon of Terre Haute and Elaine Pfeiffer of Tell City; his sons, Gary Solbrig of Bloomington, Michael Solbrig of Tell City and Keith Solbrig of Grandview; his sister, Goldie Luecke of Tell City; his grandchildren, Stephanie, Eric, Heather, Brent and Trish Solbrig, Nicole Weaver, Beth Trinkel, Brian and Doug Moon, Daniel Pfeiffer and Angela Magary and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday. Pastor Paul Alvey will officiate.
