TELL CITY – Marcia "Marcie" Jean Young, 68, passed away Oct. 3, 2018, surrounded by her family at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City, Ind.
Born Nov. 28, 1949, in Tell City, she was the daughter of Maurice "Moxie" who preceded her in death and Onia (Nugent) Linne. Marcie was a 1967 graduate of Tell City High School and was employed for 19 years at Commercial Filters. She went on to own and operate a local business and ultimately realized her lifelong dream of becoming a registered nurse of which she was very proud. She retired in 2012 from Jasper Memorial Behavioral Health Unit. An avid reader, Marcie loved her family and enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting events.
Survivors include her husband of nearly 36 years, Bobby "Bob" of Tell City; her mother, Onia Linne of Tell City; her daughters, Kathy Zabel (Bo Rowe) and Karmen Stallings (Ben) both of Tell City; her sons, Wesley Young of Pulaski, Va., Tod Young (Stacie) of Bowling Green, Ky., and Tony Young (Wendy) of Clarksville, Tenn.; her sister, Kathy Hess (Alan) of Owensboro, Ky.; her grandchildren, Derrian, Matthew, and Kade Zabel, Travis and Lainey Peter, and Brady Stallings.
In accordance with Marcia's wishes, cremation was chosen. A memorial service will be conducted at noon on Saturday, Oct. 6, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from noon until 6 pm Friday, Oct. 5, and from 9 am until noon on Saturday, Oct. 6, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Tell City High School Athletic Program.
