Marie Kress, 94, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012, at Oakwood Health Campus in Tell City.

She was born Dec. 17, 1917, in Tell City, the only child to the late William and Anna (Keller) Lambeck.
Marie was a 1936 graduate of Tell City High School and belonged to the National Honor Society. She was united in marriage July 11, 1945 to Victor Kress, who preceded her in death in 2009.
Marie worked in the office of Tell City Furniture from 1936 to 1956. For a short time she worked for William Tell Woodcrafters and was deputy auditor for Perry County for six and a half years. She retired as the secretary to the principal of St. Paul's School after 13 years.
She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, American Legion Auxiliary, Perry County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and several bridge clubs. She also volunteered for the Council of Agencies.
Surviving is her son, Joe Kress and wife, Bev of Rocky Point; two grandchildren, Melissa Ann (John) Sedwick and Katie (Vince) Fields and great-grandchildren John and Carmen Sedwick.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 21, at St. Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. Tom Richstatter OFM will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, (today) and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Friday at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home.
