Ralph Marion Parker, 82, of Santa Claus passed away at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper on Monday, May 7, 2018. Ralph was born Dec. 12, 1935, in Perry County to Luke and Cordelia (Feix) Parker.
He married Shirley Ann Miller on Aug. 19, 1961, in Tell City. She preceded him in death on Sept. 13, 2009. Ralph was retired from Whirlpool Corp. where he'd worked for 39 years. He enjoyed fishing, casinos, spending time with children and grandchildren. Ralph served in the United States Army for two years and the United States Navy for three years. He was a member of the Dale American Legion Post 444.
Ralph is survived by three daughters, Angie (Greg) Rumage of Dale, Tammy (Tim) Kleiser of Santa Claus and Jennie (Brent) Dawson of Rockport; two brothers, Larry (Donna) Parker of Corydon and Robert (Imgard) Parker of Tell City; one sister in-law, Janie Parker of St. Marks; two sisters, Loyce (Richard) Gries of Mariah Hill and Joyce Richards of Tell City; five grandchildren, Brandon, Andrew and Matthew Cantner, Drew and Leslie Kleiser; four step-grandchildren, Holly Kleiser- Gehlhausen, Tina Drake, April Rutledge and Gregory J. Rumage; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Ralph was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley, and one brother, Charles Parker.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. CDT at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand. Visitation was Wednesday from 1 to 7 p.m. CDT and Thursday from 7 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Santa Claus United Methodist Church Cemetery. Dale American Legion Post #444 will provide military graveside rights.
