Stanley R. Hawkins, 88, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013, at St. Mary's Medical Center.

He was born Oct. 11, 1924, in Perry County, son of the late Heilman and Frances "Fannie" (Esarey) Hawkins. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Betty Hawkins.
A U.S. Army veteran, he served in World War II. Stanley retired as a general foreman after working for Industrial Contractors for many years. He also built numerous homes in the area. Stanley enjoyed working on the farm, playing euchre and spending time visiting with family and friends.
He is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Lycan (Joe) Williamson of West Virginia; his son, Jeffrey Hawkins (Brittany) of Bowling Green, Kentucky; a sister, Ada Nicholson of Brookeville and four grandchildren, Daniel Lycan, Bailey, Brynn and Dane Hawkins.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, March 18, (today) at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Burial will be in the Old Chapel Cemetery near Mount Pleasant, where military graveside rites will be conducted. Joe Lycan will officiate.
Visitation was set for 3 until 8 p.m. Sunday, March 17, and from 11 a.m. until service time today.
