TELL CITY – Verena Blanford, 97, passed away July 29, 2018, at her residence in Tell City.
She was born April 11, 1921, to Andrew and Caroline (Huffman) Mullis of Addyville. Verena married the late Forrest Blanford. She retired from General Electric and was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.
Surviving are her children, Jeanette Pannett of Tell City, Carolyn Briggeman of Tell City, Forrest Blanford of Cannelton, and Manford Blanford of Tell City. She was blessed with 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death is her husband, Forrest; her daughters, Marian Ann Stout, Donna Dawson, and Bella Eilene Blanford; her siblings, Leona James, Blanch Howard, Roman Mullis, Hugo Mullis, Alfred Mullis, Adolph Mullis, Valentine Mullis and Jake Mullis; and a great-grandson.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 31, and from 8:30 a.m. to service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
