TELL CITY – Dorothy "Dot" Ress, 84, died Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at her home, surrounded by her family.

She was born Jan. 19, 1930, to the late Paul and Clara (Kluesner) Schaefer. Also preceding her in death are her brothers, Charles and Tom Schaefer.
Dot worked as the office manager for Frederick Sheet Metal. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and Hoosier Heights Country Club. Dot enjoyed playing bridge, working crossword puzzles and visiting with all of her grandchildren.
Surviving are her children, Mark (Cindia) Ress and Ed (Sonia) Ress, all of Tell City; Jeanne (Paul) Clemens of Bartlett, Ill., Anne (Rodney) Wells of Lexington, Ky. and Robin Hughes of High Point, N.C.; sisters, Marie Foertsch of Naperville, Ill., Kate Fischer and Jane Paulin, both of Tell City; 13 grandchildren, Robert, Nicholas and Christopher Clemens, Brandon M. Ress, Courtney Schank; Jayson, Tyler and Corey Wells; Bryce and Brynn Hughes, Brandon L. Ress, Tarynn Dean and Josalyn Ress and seven great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial was held Saturday, May 17, at St. Paul Catholic Church, with the Rev. Dennis Duvelius officiating. Entombment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
