TELL CITY – Edward A. Gerlach, 91, passed away, Thursday, May 29, 2014, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.

He was born in Tell City Aug. 18, 1922, to the late August and Frieda (Wittman) Gerlach. Also preceding him in death was his wife, Wilhelmina (Dutschke) Gerlach; brothers Paul and Oscar Gerlach, and a sister, Hilda Evrard.
Edward was a construction foreman for Can-Tex and a farmer. He was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ and enjoyed gardening, playing euchre and farming.
He is survived by his son, Eddie Gerlach and wife, Jayne, of Evansville; a sister, Clara Staats of Tell City and grandchildren Jessica and Nathaniel (Katlyn) Gerlach.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 2 (today), at Evangelical United Church of Christ. The Rev. JT Hills will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday, June 1 from 1 to 6 p.m. at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home and Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
