MAGNET – Hazel A. Bryant, 95, passed away Aug. 1, 2014, at Oakwood Health Campus.

She was born in Ranger Dec. 22, 1918, daughter of the late James and Mary Lee (Damin) Cassidy. Also preceding her in death were her husband, John Lee Roy Bryant in 1971; a son, Leland Bryant; a grandson, Marty Wayne Bryant; sisters Agnes Basinger, Cecilia Howell, Betty Schroeder, Josephine Mann and Frances Parsons; brothers Frank, Bernard "Laz" and Jim Cassidy and daughters-in-law, Kim, Kwon, Debbie and Patsy Bryant.
A homemaker, Hazel enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time at the river with family and friends. She was also a commercial fisherman and a rider for Pony Express, which was a mail route.
Surviving are her children, Bennett Bryant (Lois) and Curt Bryant, both of Magnet; John Bryant (Donna) of Leopold, and Barbara Durbin, Marsha Gayle Davis (Duane), Norene Duke (Don) and Sarah Sandage (Ernie), all of Tell City; Mary Miller (Brian) of Chandler and a brother, Pat Cassidy of Derby. Hazel had 23 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 5, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Visitation will be from 3 until 7 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until service time Tuesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Cemetery in Derby.
