TELL CITY – Roy L. Smith, 86, passed away Aug. 6, 2014, at Golden Living Center-Lincoln Hills. He was born in Perry County, June 26, 1928, son of the late Clyde and Edna (Popp) Smith. Also preceding him in death were his wife Minnie Marie (Hall) Smith; son Gary Smith; daughter Carolyn Schraner; brothers Clyde Smith Jr. and Donnie Smith; sisters Marjorie Hall and Linda Seifert.

He was a fleet mechanic for Holland Dairy and was formerly a Perry County deputy sheriff. He enjoyed country music.
Roy is survived by his daughter, Rosalie Nelson (Mike) of Tell City; son Alan Smith of Marengo; companion Janet Laws; six grandchildren and several great- and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel with burial in Carr Cemetery. The Rev.. Eddie Olberding will officiate. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday.
