Mendel Miller, 89, went to be with the Lord Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012.

He was born in Muhlenburg County, Ky., May 20, 1923. His parents were the late Aaron and Maggie (Rich) Miller. Mendel was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Aaron Miller.
He served in the United States Army from 1943 until 1946 with tours in Rhineland, Germany, Central Europe and Alaska.
Mendel retired from International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 553 and was a member of American Legion Post 254 in Rockport, and a Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Owensboro, Ky. He enjoyed flea markets and scratching lottery tickets.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Betty June (Spiehler) Miller; his daughters, Marsha Neagley (Dan) of Ozark, Ala., Brenda Fambrough of Robards, Ky., Donna Williams (James, Jr.) of Slaughters, Ky., Susan Litherland (Larry) of Tell City and Dana Loughman of Tell City; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Dec. 18, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery in Rockport. Military graveside rites were conducted by American Legion Post 254. The Rev. Paul Haaff officiated.
