Kenneth Poehlein, 76, passed away Wednesday Feb. 13, 2013, at Owensboro Medical Health System in Owensboro, Ky.

He was born in Tell City Sept. 18, 1936, son of the late Monroe and Nellie (Campbell) Poehlein. Also preceding him in death were a sister, Naomi Oost, and a nephew, Van Poehlein.
A 1955 graduate of Tell City High School, he retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 23 years. Kenneth was united in marriage May 19, 1956, at St. Paul Catholic Church to Georgia Biever.
A member of the OAKS, he enjoyed spending time with his family, playing cards and fishing.
Kenny is survived by his wife of 56 years, Georgia; his daughters, Janie Poehlein of Cannelton and Kathy Voiles of Evanston; his sons, Ed Poehlein, Joe Poehlein, Fred Poehlein and Ted Poehlein, all of Tell City; a sister, Mar-gie House of Tell City; his brother, Norman Poehlein of Evanston; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 16, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery at a later date. The Rev. Dennis Duvelius officiated.
