Jeanette Rippy, 92, passed away Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at Hoosier Village Health Care in Indianapolis.

She was born July 27, 1920, to the late Fred and Nettie (Muelchi) Ress.Â Also preceding her in death were her siblings, Robert, Will-iam, Walter, Earl, John Ress and Paula Magee.
Jeanette was united in marriage Jan. 26, 1944, to Amos Rippy. Together with Bill and Othello Ress, they were co-owners of The Frigid Whip. She also worked at Peoples Building and Loan and was secretary to the principal at Tell City High School. She was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ, Hoosier Heights Country Club and the Tell City Historical Society.
She enjoyed Indiana University and St. Louis Cardinals sports and playing cards with her Thursday night bridge club.
Surviving is her husband, Amos Rippy of Indianapolis; her daughters, Janet Rippy Hohlt and her husband, Fredrick of Indianapolis and Sally Riddle and her husband, Bruce of Columbus; four grandchildren, Eric, Kurt and Maria Riddle and Suzanne Koefoed and two great-grandchildren, Nela and Isaac Riddle.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at Evangelical United Church of Christ.Â The Rev Edward Schadt will officiate.Â Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home.
