Morris W. Scheler, 78, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at his home.

He was born Oct. 10, 1934, in Harrison County, son of the late Virgil and Elizabeth (McCoy) Scheler. Also preceding him in death were a daughter, Pamela Scheler and a sister, Ruth Brown.
He was united in marriage April 23, 1955, at Sacred Heart Church to Betty Goffinet. Morris retired from Mulzer Crushed Stone in 2001. A member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, he enjoyed gardening, fishing, playing solitaire and spending time with family and friends.
Morris is survived by his wife of 58 years, Betty Scheler; his daughters, Beth Flamion (Jerry) of Magnet, Shelley Wheatley of Tell City and Jema Watts (Mike) of Tell City; his sisters, Dorothy Starkey and Anna George, both of Tell City; nine grandchildren, Adam and Jordan Warford, Julian Wheatley, Leanne Halford, Molly and Shelby Flamion, Laura, Evan and Matthew Watts and six great-grandchildren, Bryce, Ethan and Reece Halford, Ainsley, Addison and Asa Warford.
A Mass of Christian Burial was conducted Saturday, March 9, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery in Derby. The Rev. Brian Esarey officiated. Huber Funeral Home in Tell City was in charge of arrangements.
