Nancy Harpenau, 73, passed away at 1:15 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Perry County Memorial Hospital, after a three-year battle with cancer, which she fought with dignity, grace and courage.

She was a devoted mother and grandmother.
She was born May 24, 1939, to the late William and Mary Ella (Tong) Reisz.
Nancy was united in marriage Sept. 9, 1961, to Martin Harpenau, who preceded her in death in 1991. Also preceding her in death were a granddaughter, infant Brooklyn Grace Harpenau; five brothers and two sisters.
She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and Daughters of Isabella.
Surviving are her children, Jeff (Lana) Harpenau of Santa Claus, Debbie (Dean) Gengelbach of New Boston, and Lisa (Darrell) Taylor of Troy; her sisters, Margaret Payne of Rockport and Sister Mary Reisz of Nazareth, Ky.; sisters-in-law Elaine Reisz of Tell City and Louise Reisz of Owensboro, Ky.; seven grandchildren, Brandon, Bryce and Alexa Gengelbach, Blake and Beau Harpenau and Cory and Baylie Taylor, and her be-loved cat, Patty.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 30, at St. Paul Catholic Church.
The Rev. Dennis Duvelius will officiate.Â Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 29, and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. The Daughters of Isabella will provide a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
